Levelling
the playing
field for
startups led
by women
Fair Advantage is designed to offer startups led by women a strategic and creative edge in the unequal world of business.
The Residency
Fair Advantage is a six-month Residency that includes:
A space of your own: A desk in a co-working space in Cremorne. In this space you’ll have full access to wifi, meeting rooms and amenities.
Brand services: $25,000 of tailored brand services to help your business. Offered by independent creative company, Bullfrog. Depending on your individual business needs, this may include access to strategy, creative, branding and production teams. And could also include mentoring from the business partners.
Production facilities: Access to an onsite production studio, including photography cyc, edit suite, voice over and podcast room.
Who can apply?
The Fair Advantage Residency is open to Australian businesses that:
- Are majority owned and led by women and/or marginalised genders
- Have not yet received capital funding
- Are based in the greater Melbourne area
Our selection process will have a strong focus on uplifting founders who may already experience disadvantage, such as women of colour, women with a disability and/or who are neurodivergent, refugees, queer women and those experiencing financial hardship.
Only
2.3%
of startups led by women received funding in 2020
Why is this important?
At Bullfrog, we want to invest in our community by sharing the resources that we, as an established creative business, are privileged to have at our disposal.
In the world of business, women have been playing in unfair territory for a long time. According to UN Women, women-led startups received just 2.3% of venture capital funding in 2020. And the stats are even slimmer with 0.7% funding for Australian businesses.

Fair Advantage recognises the Kulin Nations, in particular the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung people, as the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we work and rest. Their sovereignty was never ceded. We pay our respects to their Elders past and present, and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
